John Mackay, has spent over 30 years researching the world-wide scientific evidence which confirms the Bible's historic record. He has lectured, debated and appeared on radio & TV in many countries. Most recently he was interviewed by Richard Dawkins for his Channel 4 series, ‘The Genius of Charles Darwin’. On that occasion John Mackay personally invited Dawkins to debate him in Shrewsbury around the time of Darwin’s bicentenary. Dawkins declined. In this presentation John Mackay will examine Darwin’s world view and how he and others have used this to re-write the history of the earth. Not only did Darwin appeal to his so-called science to justify his own rejection of the gospel of Jesus Christ, (see quotation above,) but it has become the bulwark of the campaign to secularise Britain and other western societies. Darwin was a Cambridge theology graduate, so any understanding of his world view must consider his approach to theology as well as geology and biology.
